Advantech Group CVC and Midea Group CVC — Collaborative Investment Partnership
Historically, collaboration between Advantech and Midea primarily centered on business activities. In early 2025, the two groups' CVC investment teams formally established a partnership to jointly pursue minority equity investments in the broader business-to-business (To-B) industrial automation sector.
To date, they have jointly invested in six companies across smart logistics, electronic components, precision robotics components, advanced manufacturing machine tools, and industrial inverters. Some of these portfolio companies have already filed for or are preparing for initial public offerings (IPOs).
In addition, the teams hold regular meetings to exchange views on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), smart logistics, smart healthcare, and physical AI, further strengthening dialogue on strategic investment and industry collaboration.

Future Outlook: Advantech × Midea — From Co-Investment to Industry Collaboration
Advantech has a strong technology and market foundation in the global industrial computing sector, while Midea Group brings extensive industry resources in home appliances, robotics, and industrial technologies.
Looking ahead, the two groups will continue to deepen their collaboration, leverage their respective strengths, and seek further mutually beneficial opportunities. Their partnership will extend beyond jointly investing in innovative companies to advancing technology collaboration, creating business synergies, and expanding industry ecosystems.
The two groups will focus on three areas—smart manufacturing, robotics and automation, and green and low-carbon technologies and energy management—to jointly explore further industry collaboration opportunities and promote industrial upgrading across Asia and globally.
Planned Areas of Collaboration
1. Smart Manufacturing: Midea has extensive hands-on experience with “Lighthouse Factories,” while Advantech offers strong hardware and software integration capabilities (Edge+). By combining Midea's digital factory management expertise with Advantech's edge computing solutions, the two groups aim to bring integrated offerings to manufacturing markets worldwide and jointly build a smart manufacturing ecosystem.
2. Robotics and Automation: By bringing together robotics from Midea's subsidiary KUKA with Advantech's industrial AIoT hardware products and software platforms (WISE-IoT/WEDA), the two groups aim to develop collaborative solutions, enhance industrial robot capabilities, and accelerate the advancement of industrial automation.
3. Green and Low-Carbon Technologies and Energy Management: In response to global ESG trends, the two groups hope to collaborate on smart buildings and facility energy management. By combining Advantech's sensing technologies, including edge gateways and edge controllers, with Midea's HVAC energy-consumption management and smart building solutions, they aim to pursue significant opportunities in green supply chains and energy management.
