Date: 10/29/2026 12:00:00 AM
Building Advantech's Next Growth Curve
As Edge AI, autonomous systems, and industrial intelligence continue to accelerate, industries are entering a new wave of technological innovation and market transformation opportunities.
Advantech Corporate Investment (ACI) continues to integrate three key growth engines—New Business Development (NBD), Corporate Venture Capital (CVC), and strategic Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). By combining internal innovation, external technologies, and strategic partnerships, ACI is expanding opportunities in emerging markets and creating new momentum for Advantech's long-term growth.
In the third quarter of 2026, ACI not only achieved strong results across its investment portfolio but also formally launched several new business development mechanisms and strategic initiatives, continuing to build Advantech's future US$5 billion growth platform.
New Business Development (NBD)
Focusing on emerging markets, NBD accelerates new technology applications, market validation, and business model development through internal incubation and integration of external resources, while continuing to explore Advantech's next wave of growth opportunities.
Key Progress in Q3 2026
- ARM Platform Business Expansion
- Autonomous System Sector BU Planning
- Container Management Solution Incubation
- Completed an initial business proposal
- Initiated the NBD Committee evaluation process
- Began planning for the feasibility of a future independent spin-off
Advantech continues to expand its ARM Platform organization and R&D investment, strengthening its product competitiveness and solution capabilities in the Edge AI and IoT markets.
Planning has begun for an Autonomous System Sector BU, intended to serve as a platform for promoting the Group's priority sectors and accumulating key technical capabilities. Cross-business-unit integration will accelerate expansion into new industries.
An internal incubation initiative for a Container Management Solution is underway.
Milestones achieved to date:
This startup-oriented mechanism is intended to accelerate market validation and business model development.
Formal Launch of NBD Development Mechanisms
- Assignment of a dedicated HR Partner
- Recruitment of talent for new businesses
- Design of KPI and incentive plan mechanisms
ACI continues to improve its mechanisms for new business evaluation, talent development, and performance management. By integrating cross-functional resources, it aims to improve execution efficiency from proof of concept through commercialization and progressively establish a replicable new business incubation model.
Corporate Venture Capital (CVC)
By investing in emerging technologies and ecosystem partners, CVC aims to capture future industry opportunities and accelerate the Group's innovation and transformation.
Key Progress in Q3 2026
- Momenta Portfolio Success
- New Investment Through the Tianying Hehua Fund
- New Funding Rounds Through the Tianying Hehua Fund
Minds.ai, a portfolio company invested in by the fund, was successfully acquired by Applied Materials. Minds.ai specializes in AI technologies for semiconductor manufacturing, and its software platform will be integrated into Applied Materials' SmartFactory solutions.
Jingsongyan Intelligence (靜松炎智能): The company focuses on integrated space-air-ground communications chip technologies, positioning itself in future low Earth orbit satellite, communications, and intelligent infrastructure markets.
Both companies completed new funding rounds and achieved higher valuations. ACI is monitoring developments in robotic intelligent perception, control, and related technologies, while exploring future application opportunities in smart manufacturing and autonomous systems. These developments continue to drive growth in the fund's fair value.
Strategic Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
Strategic M&A enables rapid access to product technologies, talent, solutions, and market channels, supporting the creation of high-growth business platforms.
Key Areas Under Evaluation
- OT Security (Operational Technology Security)
- Arm-based Solutions
In response to rapidly growing cybersecurity needs for critical infrastructure and industrial control systems worldwide, ACI continues to evaluate target companies with capabilities in industrial cybersecurity, device protection, OT network security, and regulatory compliance, with the aim of strengthening Advantech's comprehensive industrial cybersecurity solutions.
As the Arm architecture increasingly becomes an important platform for Edge AI, IoT, and low-power computing, ACI continues to evaluate companies with competitive advantages in Arm-based platform products, technologies, and markets, with the aim of accelerating Advantech's Arm ecosystem expansion and building differentiated competitiveness.
Strategic Areas Under Continued Monitoring
Preliminary research and outreach have been completed in the following areas. ACI will continue monitoring them in light of market conditions, strategic fit, and transaction terms:
- Connectivity Solutions (Industrial Connectivity Solutions)
- Mission-Critical Computing
Focus on companies involved in industrial communications, wireless connectivity, and edge communications technologies, to strengthen Advantech's presence in intelligent connectivity and IoT application markets.
Evaluate companies with high reliability, high availability, and mission-critical computing capabilities to expand Advantech's opportunities in critical application markets, including transportation, defense, and public infrastructure.
ACI will continue combining industry research, strategic evaluation, and cross-business-unit collaboration to prudently assess strategic investment and M&A opportunities with long-term value, supporting Advantech's broader industry presence and competitive advantages.
