Co-Creation in Action: ICP x Advantech’s Energy IoT Journey
Date: 7/1/2026 12:00:00 AM
Background
Intelligent Cloud Plus (ICP, 加雲聯網) is a strategic investee company of Advantech Corporate Investment (ACI) and an integration expert for the new energy era. ICP has long focused on energy management and power automation, helping enterprises use digital technology to improve energy efficiency, lower electricity costs, and accelerate their energy transition. ICP’s core strength lies in its self-developed iVPP (Virtual Power Plant) intelligent cloud platform, whose product portfolio spans microgrid management, energy management, power trading, and renewable energy O&M.
Co-Creation Model Between Advantech And ICP
Through its collaboration with Advantech, ICP’s iVPP platform is no longer software that requires custom hardware integration on a project-by-project basis. Instead, it is built on a unified foundation of Advantech industrial-grade IoT devices — including multi-function energy meters (EVA-P220, EVA-P228), LPWAN wireless CT (current transformer) nodes (WISE-2210), IoT gateways (ECU-1051), industrial LoRaWAN gateways (WISE-6610), MGC controllers (IoT edge computers), and EMS servers (HPC industrial computers) — forming a rapidly replicable, end-to-end energy management solution.
- Advantech devices provide standardized data acquisition, communications, and edge computing, allowing ICP to focus on deepening its software dispatch logic rather than repeatedly solving hardware integration challenges for each customer.
- The combination significantly shortens deployment time for each new site, shifting the business model from bespoke engineering projects toward scalable, verifiable solution delivery.

How ICP Enables a Different Business Model
Enterprise Factories: Integrated Solar-Storage-Charging Applications
In the I&C energy management space, ICP deployed an integrated solar-storage-charging system at a parking facility in Vietnam, combining a 22 kW solar PV generation system, a 20 kWh energy storage system, and a 7 kW EV charging station, with real-time monitoring and intelligent dispatch through an energy management system. The system optimizes energy control based on electricity demand, storage status, and tariff strategy, effectively improving renewable energy utilization and lowering electricity costs — demonstrating the energy-saving and economic benefits of microgrids in enterprise factories and I&C settings.
Campuses & Parks: Smart Campus Energy Applications
In campus and large-scale park settings, ICP helped National Central University build a campus microgrid, integrating a 252 kW solar PV system, a 1 MW / 3.3 MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage system, and 120 kW of EV charging equipment, creating a smart energy demonstration site that combines energy management with disaster-resilience capability. Monitoring, dispatch, and management are handled through the EMS energy management system, enabling integrated solar-plus-storage applications and establishing a replicable, scalable campus microgrid model — demonstrating the application potential of microgrid technology in campuses, technology parks, and large-scale park settings.
Business Value for Advantech
- Advantech’s industrial IoT devices serve as the standardized hardware foundation for microgrid solutions, providing data acquisition, device connectivity, edge computing, and remote monitoring capabilities that support diverse energy application scenarios.
- Through its rapidly replicable microgrid deployment model, ICP helps Advantech shorten the device deployment and site-validation cycle, accelerating the rollout of smart energy solutions and customer expansion across Southeast Asia and the I&C market.
- The value of this collaboration extends beyond hardware supply to the joint co-creation of complete microgrid solutions. Advantech contributes its strengths in industrial IoT, edge computing, and global market presence, while ICP brings deep expertise in energy and power automation and systems integration — together helping customers achieve energy management, intelligent dispatch, and operational efficiency, and jointly reinforcing Advantech’s position as a solution provider in the energy IoT space.
Strategic Implications for Advantech
By combining Advantech’s strengths in industrial IoT, edge computing, industrial communications, and global market presence with ICP’s expertise in microgrid management, energy management, and power automation, the two companies are deeply integrating hardware devices with a vertical application platform — further strengthening their ability to deliver scenario-based solutions, not just products.
By modularizing and standardizing successful use cases, Advantech and ICP are jointly advancing a microgrid SRP (Solution Ready Package), helping customers quickly adopt suitable smart energy solutions and extending applications to a range of scenarios — including factory microgrids, campus microgrids, energy resilience infrastructure, demand management, and integrated solar-storage-charging deployments.
"The collaboration between ICP and Advantech allows us to tightly combine software dispatch capability with reliable industrial-grade hardware — precisely the two things I&C energy customers value most when considering long-term deployments."
